Zarcillo earrings are handmade, using Australian-sourced materials combined with recycled, found and natural items sourced by the maker herself.
Each pair is unique.
The focus is reuse and re-imagination of the ordinary that surrounds us. Recycled materials are used for packaging.
Four categories are offered:
- Beads (traditional)
- Seeds (seeds, seed pods and nuts)
- Barks (bark from native Australian trees)
- Sparks (unusual, avant-garde, asymmetric or single)
Why Zarcillo? Zarcillo is a Spanish word for earring, and also for tendril, that lovely green grasping curl of plants that connects them to their surroundings.
A different selection is available from the ZarcilloEarrings shop on Etsy.
Zarcillo displays and sells at local markets. A larger selection, including earrings not yet placed in the online store, is available at markets.
We were last at the Old Bus Depot Markets on Sunday, 10 March 2019.
As promised, we have already donated all proceeds from those markets ($210 thank you!) to SchoolStrike4Climate.
Regardless of your age, you can support their cause by joining the nearest strike on 15 March, or by donating through the Australian Youth Climate Coalition.
As for Zarcillo, check back here for when we will next be at market.
Browse our offerings in four main categories: beads, seeds, barks and sparks. Each set comes safely packed in its own stylish gift box made from recycled materials and environmentally safe inks.
